Arts Plus Abstract Painting Classes

Come and find the abstract technique that is buried beneath the mundane day-to-day. This class is not a step-by-step guide to painting realism, but is for those that want to figure out how and why specific lines and colors make sense in one composition and not another. Participants can expect to explore color, composition, and mark-making in an open-ended format.

This class will use various meditative techniques and materials to encourage your inner artist to unfold. The goal is for each student to find their own mark-making and follow their intuition with creating. The main techniques that will be explored are based on layering and overlapping using acrylic paints that will focus on each artist's personal style.

This adult art class begins January 30 and meets for six weeks on Monday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m. at the new Arts+ Uptown location
